New · AI Act Article 4

AI literacy training technology and psychology in one programme

Since 2 February 2025, organisations that use AI are expected to support the AI literacy of their people (Article 4 of the AI Act). This workshop covers both sides of the same change: how AI works and how to use it safely — and how people adopt it, what they trust and who makes the decision.

AI Act

What Article 4 of the AI Act says

Article 4 of the Artificial Intelligence Act applies from 2 February 2025. It concerns providers and deployers of AI systems — in practice also companies whose employees use AI assistants, chatbots and other AI-based tools at work.

The provision asks organisations to take into account people’s knowledge, experience and education, the context in which AI is used and the persons on whom AI is used. That is why “click here, type that” is not enough — judging results, responsibility and the impact on others matter too.

In 2026 the amendment known as the Digital Omnibus softened the wording: instead of “ensuring a sufficient level” of literacy, it speaks of taking measures to support it. The duty to act remains. In the workshop we always present the legal position as of the training date.

The workshop is not legal advice. For interpretation of the law we recommend consulting a lawyer.

Why two parts

AI literacy is more than knowing the tools

The most common problems with AI at work are not technical. They are data pasted where it should never go, blind trust in answers that “sound right” and quiet worries nobody says out loud. That is why the programme combines technology with psychology.

  • Knowledge

How generative AI works, what it can do, where it fails and why. No jargon, on the tools your team actually uses.

  • Judgement

How to check results, what not to paste into tools and when the decision must stay with a person.

  • Attitude

How to recognise over-trust or resistance to AI and how to talk in the team about worries over changing roles.

Programme

Two parts, two trainers

Each part is a separate day — on consecutive days or, for company training, with a gap in between. The second part builds on the experience of the first.

  1. Part 1 · Technology 6 hours

How AI works and how to use it safely

Michał Kozak · automation & AI architect, AI trainer

    Part programme

    • How generative AI works: language models, prompts, context — without jargon
    • Capabilities and limits: hallucinations, outdated knowledge, bias
    • Working with data: what not to paste, privacy settings, personal data and trade secrets
    • Verifying results: how to check AI answers and sources
    • The AI Act in practice: Article 4, risks, prohibited practices — what it means for your work
    • Exercises on the tools your team uses

Outcome: Participants know what to use AI for and what not, and how to work with data safely.

  2. Part 2 · People 6 hours

The psychology of working with AI: trust, worries, responsibility

    Izabela Kozak · psychologist

    Part programme

    • How people react to AI: curiosity, anxiety, resistance — and why that is normal
    • Automation bias and other cognitive biases when working with AI
    • Responsibility for decisions: human in the loop in practice
    • Worries about changing roles and being judged — how to talk about them in a team
    • Healthy work with AI: information overload, pressure of pace, boundaries
    • Shared team rules for using AI — workshop

Outcome: The team uses AI consciously and without pressure, and worries are named instead of blocking change.

Who it is for

For whole teams, not only the “AI people”

  • Employees using AI

People who use AI chatbots and assistants in everyday work or will start after a rollout.

  • Managers and leadership

People who decide on AI rollouts, are accountable for their effects and talk to the team about changing roles.

  • HR, compliance and AI implementers

People who organise Article 4 measures, write AI usage rules or run implementations.

After the workshop

What participants and the company take away

Participants

  • Understand how AI works and where it fails
  • Know which data not to entrust to AI tools
  • Can check a result before using it
  • Can name their worries and talk about them
  • Receive a certificate of attendance

Company

  • The programme and attendance list for documenting Article 4 measures
  • A proposal of shared AI usage rules developed in the workshop
  • A picture of the team’s attitudes to AI — aggregated only, nothing about individuals
  • Recommendations for further training for the roles that use AI most

FAQ

Questions about AI literacy training

Does Article 4 of the AI Act apply to us if we do not build AI?

Most likely yes. It also covers deployers of AI systems, i.e. companies whose employees use AI tools at work. The details depend on which tools you use and for what — we help to clarify this before the workshop.

Does the workshop give an AI Act compliance certificate?

No. There is no official compliance certificate for Article 4. Participants receive certificates of attendance, and the company receives the programme and attendance list for its documentation. We do not give legal advice.

Why is a psychologist running the workshop?

Because the barriers to using AI are often human: fear of being judged, worry about one’s role, blind trust in answers or complete distrust. Psychologist Izabela Kozak helps to name and work through them in a safe atmosphere — without judging participants.

Do participants need to know AI tools beforehand?

No. The workshop suits every level. People who already use AI get exercises on verifying results and working with data.

Can the workshop be online?

Yes. For company training we can run it online, on-site or hybrid and split it into two sessions. For groups with many worries about AI we recommend at least the second part on-site.

Will management learn what individual participants said?

No. The company only receives an aggregated picture of attitudes and recommendations — nothing about specific people. That is a condition for people to speak openly.
